Overview | This bridge is a mixed steel and prestressed concrete bridge which passes over a rail line. It is composed of a steel deck box girder in the center span over the rail line, and prestressed box girders on both side spans. The bridge features the adoption of a bearing type that transmits shear force without a stop gap through frictional force between the steel and concrete box girders. This system simplified the connection structure and improved construction, but FEM analysis and model experiments were necessary to ensure the validity of the method for transferring stress. |
